Re/Arte

Re/Arte is a literary and art space run and owned by Viva Padilla that carries affordable books in English and Spanish with a focus on small presses and hosts events such as film screenings, book launches, open mic nights, author talks, literacy programs for kids, and writer’s workshops for the community. Re/Arte is also the headquarters of Dryland, a literary journal born in South Central Los Angeles and Ponte Las Pilas Press and is proud to feature artbooks and literary journals for instore borrowing.

Every weekend in July

Harlem Book Fair 2021

The Harlem Book Fair is happening virtually this year. It is the United State’s largest African-American book fair and the nation’s flagship Black literary event. Held annually in Harlem, NY, the Harlem Book Fair features exhibition booths, panel discussions, book sales, and workshops. 

Notable participating authors have included Maya Angelou, Cornel West, Sonia Sanchez, Amiri Baraka, Walter Mosley, Terry McMillan, Touré, Farai Chideya, Stanley Crouch, Nelson George, and Mark Anthony Neal.
